Vectorman is a run-and-gun action platformer developed by Blueskies and published by Sega in 1995 for the Genesis/Mega Drive. The game follows Vectorman, a sentient pile of vectors (robotic clean-up drones), as he battles through a dystopian Earth contaminated by toxic sludge to confront the rogue supercomputer Raster. Featuring fluid sprite animation, environmental hazards, rapid-fire gameplay, and the ability to transform into various objects and weapons, Vectorman showcases some of the technical capabilities of the Genesis hardware with its use of computer-generated graphics and fluid visual style. The game became a notable late-era Genesis release and spawned a sequel, earning recognition for its distinctive art direction and challenging gameplay.
